Retreats on Divine Mercy in De Aar Diocese

Divine Mercy altar

Pope Francis announcing the Holy Year of Mercy has encouraged us to take time to reflect on this “greatest attribute” of God. It shall not be one time event. “We need constantly to contemplate the mystery of mercy. It is a wellspring of joy, serenity, and peace. Our salvation depends on it.” – says Holy Father.

The faithful of the De Aar Diocese had a chance to do so during their parish retreat time:

in Graaff-Reinet on 22-24 January – see the gallery of Retreat-GR;

in Middelburg on 29-31 January – see the gallery of Retreat-Middelburg;

in Colesberg on 5-7 February – see the gallery of Retreat-Colesberg;

in De Aar on 12-14 February – see the gallery of Retreat-DeAar;

in Hopetown on 19-21 February – see the gallery of Retreat-Hopetown;

in Petrusville on 26-28 February – see the gallery of Retreat-Petrusville;

The retreat was conducted by Fr Michael Ciemięga scj, combined with the visitation of Divine Mercy Image. The program of the retreat included: daily Eucharist and Adoration, Chaplet to Divine Mercy, the Stations of the Cross, Prayer of forgiveness, examination of conscience and Confession, the Anointing of the Sick and Dedication of the Families, as well as the whole parish to the Divine Mercy. Everything deeply immersed in prayer and daily reflections, with the accent on the Year of Mercy.
