All saints – 2018

“Blessed are the …”

In today’s Solemnity – All Saints – we celebrate all the unknown saint people who are now in Heaven. It reminds us about and calls us to live a holy life. I hope that’s the aim of all believers! It is not easy to live such a life in the present times. Many may honestly be looking for a way how to do it.

We get a help from St. Matthew who gives us Jesus’ sermon on the mountain. Jesus is showing us the surest way to God’s Heavenly Kingdom. There are at least eight groups of people that are counted among the “Blessed” ones. Each one representing a different way of living. Each one doing something different from others. Yet, each one of them is called “Blessed”.

Read, please, the Gospel again, slowly. Stop for a moment at each of those “Blessed”. You may even rewrite them in line, to see the difference much better.

Which one of them seems to be closest to you, to your life? Can you identify with anyone of tchem?

Please, choose one and reflect on it for a day. Think, how can you put this chosen “blessing” into practice?

Then try to live it just for a week.

Blessed is the one who received a grace from God and put it into practice. All of us are shower with God’s grace every day, yet, not so many are using those gifts of God.

Let us open our eyes and hearts and be ready to receive and accept God’s gifts so that others may see those “blessings”.
