 15th Sunday O.T.  – 2018

“shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them”

There are many and so different situations in our lives. And we are in so many and different moods at times. Sometimes, we want to listen, sometimes, we don’t. Once we are ready to accept instructions, other times we aren’t.

How is it with the Word of God? Do we listen to it? Do we accept it? How about those who preach it to us?

We all know that each one of us is different. So, the same applies to those who preach to us. They have a different style that others. Their background and experience is different. Yet, the Word of God is the same. It may be presented differently but in itself it is the same as two-thousand years age.

Christ does not change, we do. Christ does not change anything, we do. His grace is given to us. Do we use it well? Whatever it is wasted it will not bring us anything good.

When Jesus says: “Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you”, He does not talk about being or not being polite. Jesus talks about our listening heart, a heart that welcome the Word and those who preach it eagerly, with joy and is ready to follow it, and gets involved in spreading it around.

There are those who are – like the apostles – sent to us and there are we who are sent to others. Each one is a message to others.

Let us be a good message to others. Let us be a Good News to those who are around us every single day.
