6th Sunday of Easter – 2018

6th Sunday of Easter – 2018

“Remain in my love”

Love – a word so simple and easy to say;

love – the most misused and misunderstood term;

love – the deepest desire of every human being.

A love isn’t a passing by feeling that lasts only some moments.

To love is an act of our free will; it is a decision that I make with sincerity from the depths of my heart.

Some may say that it cannot be for ever, and give a number of examples and so much we do experience in our lives.

A true love is guided and protected by some sure rules that make it to last for ever and make it stronger. These rules are given to us by Jesus in today’s Gospel: “If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love”.

The commandments are given to us not to limit our freedom but to guide – to guard – us in God’s love. They make us realize what truly important is.

Jesus – our Lord and God – has given us the best example through His own life. “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for his friends”.

God – the Giver and Lover of Life – did not spare His own life for each one of us. He loves us till the end.

Let us try to be a bit more loving towards each other these days.
