Divine Mercy Sunday 2018

Divine Mercy Sunday – 2018

“before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy” DIARY of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

Being merciful is the greatest act of a human heart. Love is the source of mercy. A truly “deep” love, one that embraces the whole human existence, endows us with a suffering. We very quickly perceive selflessness and sincerity of others. Many people turn to such human beings, filled with the unconditional love for help and human warmth:

the hungry ones for food;

the thirsty ones for drink;

the naked ones for clothes;

the enslaved ones for freedom;

the distressed ones for consolation;

all others – living or dead – for prayer.

All these deeds we find listed in the Acts of mercy. All misery of our existence is manifested in these works.

The celebration of the Divine Mercy Sunday reminds us about God’s calling to be merciful to each other. Jesus gave us the best example. It is not the matter of divine power working miracles. The true miracle is the change of our human heart and the works of mercy are the best proves that we do have a heart – made not of stone but of flesh.

Let us make this day – and not only this day – a day of great acts of mercy. Let us allow God of Love and Mercy to fill our hearts with His Love and to act through us so to show His unconditional, selfless and merciful love for everyone.
