Easter Sunday – 2018

 Easter Sunday – 2018

“they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead”

I think that all of us feel how the time is passing away, and our life with the time. Not so long ago we have been young; now – we feel a bit old. Subconsciously, we feel that this physical life – the life of smelling, feeling, touching – is not the end.

The Gospel of this Sunday – the Easter or Resurrection Sunday – tells us about Jesus’ rising from the dead. What does it mean to us? The disciples: Peter and John – the closest disciples of Jesus – “did not yet understand” that. Do we understand this? I think not. That’s the mystery of faith.

How do we imagine the resurrection? Will we have such body as we do now? Will they be different? How different? Thousands of questions come to our minds, yet no satisfying answer? Yes, that is difficult to imagine as long as we live in these physical bodies.

The spiritual reality, the invisible reality that exists is of different sort, a kind which is rather strange to all of us, especially if concentrate only on this physical world.

To grasp, at least a bit of this “invisible”, we need to open our hearts and minds to Jesus’ teaching. We need to be led by His Holy Spirit which will teach us and explain to us everything that Jesus has told us. All that we can do is to trust that one day or in time to come, everything will become clear to us and fully understandable.
