Sunday of Divine Mercy – 2017
- Hits: 16
The Sunday of Divine Mercy, a great feast of the mercy that we experience all the time. Though the Jubilee Year of Mercy ended, God’s mercy never ends.
Alike to the Apostles, so to us, Jesus directs the words: “As the Father has sent me, so I send you”. What are we send for? To spread the Good News about God’s mercy; that He is loving and forgiving our sins. We are sent to show how merciful the Father is. Jesus, His Son, has showed us how to do it. His deeds and signs – as John, the Evangelist says – “are written that (we) you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God”, the merciful Father.
Our mission rests on faith and every good work shall be flowing from that faith and be supported by this faith. Only then, “through this believe you may have life in his name”. To this life – in Jesus Christ, in God – we are called and will get there by doing the works of mercy, as Jesus did.
God’s blessing is given to all, especially to those who believe: “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed”. In our witnessing to God’s mercy, we are supported and strengthened by God’s blessing.
Let us go to this world that is in need of peace, of consolation, of love, of Divine mercy.
Jesus Christ is risen!!!
