3rd Sunday of Lent – 2017

Do we know gifts given to us by God? If we think: “I have no gifts”, think again, and do it very well. Think deeply, search your mind, search your heart. God has equipped each one of us with a number of gifts, not only one.

Each one of us is a gift of God to others. We are walking treasures of God to humanity. Unfortunately, we seldom show ourselves as such. Why? Are we so bad? No, only because that we do not know ourselves and what we have got deep inside. Often, we are afraid, for no reason, to show who we truly are.

To recognize our gifts, to know ourselves very well, we need to meet with Jesus and talk to Him, as the woman of today’s Gospel. We need to listen to what Jesus has to say to us. It means, we need to take a good time for a prayer. Don’t just recite the formulas that you have learned by heart; talk-pray with your heart. Jesus will enlighten your mind but will talk to your heart.

Meeting with Jesus regularly you will learn to understand the language and the way that He wants to talk to you. Then step by step, being concentrated on Jesus, we come to understand and know ourselves, and the gifts that we have received from God.

Be thankful for every little thing and trust God who never stops acting and helping us to grow to the fullness of Christ.
